Kaiju, Awakened
In a Japan plagued by giant monsters known as kaiju, Kafka Hibino works as a monster disposal worker, cleaning up after battles. His childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, has become a prominent member of the anti-Kaiju Defense Force, inspiring Kafka to pursue his long-abandoned dream of joining her in the fight against these creatures. However, Kafka feels inadequate and has resigned himself to his current job until a fateful incident transforms him into "Kaiju No. 8," granting him extraordinary powers.
Kikoru Shinomiya is a prodigy elite officer and entered the Defense Force with the highest recorded unleashed combat power for a recruit and the combat strength of a platoon leader. She primarily wields a giant personal battle axe and later inherits powerful equipment, including Numbers Weapons.
