Gundam is a Japanese military fiction media franchise created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise (now Bandai Namco Filmworks), the franchise features giant robots, or mecha, with the name "Gundam". The franchise began on April 7, 1979, with Mobile Suit Gundam, a TV series that defined the mecha anime genre by featuring giant robots called mobile suits in a militaristic setting. The popularity of the series spawned a franchise that includes, TV series, manga, novels, video games and a whole industry of plastic model kits known as Gunpla.
This kit features the first revision in 14 years of the iconic 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam, embodying the anniversary theme "Revive" with this all-new mold. With ideal proportions, an evolution in mobility, and an easier build than ever, build this kit and display the new frontiers of Gunpla! The RX-78-2 Gundam Revive brings many welcome and much-needed updates to the original kit’s engineering. Thanks to many years of improvements in Gunpla Engineering, you will find many points of articulation not seen on the RX-78-2 Gundam Revive’s predecessor. Those that were present are dramatically improved.
