Kaiju, Awakened
In a Japan plagued by giant monsters known as kaiju, Kafka Hibino works as a monster disposal worker, cleaning up after battles. His childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, has become a prominent member of the anti-Kaiju Defense Force, inspiring Kafka to pursue his long-abandoned dream of joining her in the fight against these creatures. However, Kafka feels inadequate and has resigned himself to his current job until a fateful incident transforms him into "Kaiju No. 8," granting him extraordinary powers.
Kafka Hibino, also known as Kaiju No. 8, is a 32-year-old cleanup worker who gains the ability to transform into a powerful humanoid monster after a parasitic creature merges with his body. Grants superhuman strength, high-speed movement, rapid cellular regeneration, and a "Kaiju Sense" to detect other monsters nearby. His unique energy attacks can disrupt the vital regeneration capabilities of target kaiju.
