The King of the Monsters
Godzilla is a giant monster that debuted in the eponymous 1954 film, directed and co-written by Ishirō Honda. The character has since become an international pop culture icon, appearing in various media: 33 Japanese films produced by Toho Co., Ltd., five American films, and numerous video games, novels, comic books, and television shows. As the series progressed, so did Godzilla, changing into a less destructive and more heroic character.
Rebirth of Mothra sees the titular goddess summon an egg in her old age to carry on her legacy after her impending death. Meanwhile, a logging company in Hokkaido unwittingly uncovers the tomb of the evil space monster Desghidorah. Belvera, the evil Elias sister bent on the destruction of mankind, intends to use the monster to achieve her goals. With the help of two children and their miniature guardian Fairy, Belvera's sisters Moll and Lora call upon Mothra to stop Desghidorah and ensure humanity's future.
