The King of the Monsters
Godzilla is a giant monster that debuted in the eponymous 1954 film, directed and co-written by Ishirō Honda. The character has since become an international pop culture icon, appearing in various media: 33 Japanese films produced by Toho Co., Ltd., five American films, and numerous video games, novels, comic books, and television shows. As the series progressed, so did Godzilla, changing into a less destructive and more heroic character.
Godzilla from the new attraction "Godzilla the Ride: Great Clash," currently showing at Seibu-en Amusement Park in Tokorozawa near Tokyo, is joining Bandai's "S.H.MonsterArts" action-figure lineup!
This incredibly posable figure is based on the 3D data used in the video, and the prototype was sculpted, painted, and produced by Yuji Sakai. Godzilla's dorsal fins in particular are meticulously reproduced, and Godzilla's neck articulation has been improved to allow fans to recreate his impressive swimming pose. A pair of mini-figures of Goose from the video are included too.
