Sonic the Hedgehog is the main protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series and Sega's mascot. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog; as his namesake suggests, he was born with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound. Sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball to attack enemies, a variation on his species' real-world defence mechanism. With the first Sonic game released in 1991, there's no sign of the world's most famous Hedgehog slowing down anytime soon.
Dr. Eggman is Sonic the Hedgehog's arch-nemesis who uses his genius intellect for evil, which includes building lots of machines, like his Egg Mobile seen in many Sonic games over the years.
