Peace is nothing but a result of war
Gundam is a Japanese military fiction media franchise created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise (now Bandai Namco Filmworks), the franchise features giant robots, or mecha, with the name "Gundam". The franchise began on April 7, 1979, with Mobile Suit Gundam, a TV series that defined the mecha anime genre by featuring giant robots called mobile suits in a militaristic setting. The popularity of the series spawned a franchise that includes, TV series, manga, novels, video games and a whole industry of plastic model kits known as Gunpla.
This 1/100 scale model kit represents the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam re-imagined by renowned mechanical designer Hajime Katoki, making it the first "Ver. Ka" kit. While an older Master Grade, it set the standard for detailed proportions and Katoki's signature aesthetic, featuring unique panel lines and an extensive set of waterslide decals. The kit includes its classic arsenal: a beam rifle, shield, two beam sabers, and a bazooka, along with a transforming core fighter. Despite showing some age compared to newer MGs, its distinctive design and historical importance make it a beloved piece for collectors and fans of the original Gundam.
