A brand new adventure in the universe of a centuries-old goblin assassin, taking you to the city of the Dark Elves
Styx: Shards of Darkness is a brand new infiltration game from Cyanide Studios. The goblin assassin returns in an epic new adventure that takes him around a dark-fantasy world: From Thoben, the City of Thieves, to the Dark Elven city of Korangar. Shards of Darkness brings Styx back with new abilities, enemies, and allies in a beautiful land developed on Unreal 4 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
As Styx you will be sneaking through underground cities, mysterious mines, and inpenetrable fortresses. You will need to use all of his skills (and size) to perform the heist of the century and expose a deadly conspiracy! Styx can climb, swing, and hang through huge multi-layered levels, and hide in the tiniest of places.
Upon completing missions and side-objectives, Styx can be customized to suit your playstyle. There are 5 unique skill paths that you can invest in, allowing him to specialize in killing, stealth, and even crafting. Specialize in traps and poisonous gas, or improve Styx’s new high-flying abilities and invisibility magic.
And now, for the first time ever, experience every level in the campaign in co-operative mode! Combine all your abilities, or experiment with all the different gameplay mechanics together!
Styx is a goblin up against insurmountable odds so avoiding confrontation is paramount. The huge levels mean there are multiple paths to the objectives, and plenty of items to loot and areas to explore. In Styx Shards of Darkness, getting through these zones require a few tricks up Styx's tiny sleeves.
Styx has been given more freedom of movement. He can leap, climb, hang, and even swing from place to place. He is even able to ambush his enemies from the air and from cover.
His small stature also allows him to hide in places nobody expects, like barrels and drain covers. By using the new level-up system, you can unlock him the ability to swiftly kill from any hiding place and stuff the body inside.
With the new crafting system, Styx is able to create traps, bombs, and poisonous needles by combining the resources he finds on the field. Acid concoctions can be used to dispose of bodies, and smoke bombs can distract pursuers when things go south.
Styx can also create a clone of himself and control it remotely – perfect for an expendable distraction.
