In this animated update of the popular motion picture, the Ghostbusters continue their mission to keep the city safe from demons, curses, spooks, and all kinds of strange phenomena, both known and unknown to humanity. This time, they receive assistance from their old nemesis, Slimer (also known as "Onionhead"), a new array of weapons, and occasional help from their devoted secretary, Janine Melnitz. In 1988, at the start of the fourth season, the series became part of a one-hour block of Ghostbusters cartoons, which included the newly created "Slimer!" series, and was known as "Slimer! And The Real Ghostbusters.
