Sonic the Hedgehog, born June 23, is the main protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series and Sega's mascot. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog; as his namesake suggests, he was born with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound. Sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball to attack enemies, a variation on his species' real-world defence mechanism.
